Gallbladder & Liver Surgery in Antalya
Gallbladder and liver surgery covers a wide spectrum of conditions including gallstones, acute and chronic cholecystitis, gallbladder polyps, common bile duct stones, jaundice, liver cysts, hydatid disease and liver masses. In Antalya, Dr. Gökhan ATEŞ evaluates each patient considering symptoms, blood tests, ultrasound, MRCP, CT or MRI findings and overall health status. The aim is an accurate diagnosis, avoiding unnecessary surgery and — when indicated — planning a laparoscopic or multidisciplinary treatment at the appropriate time.

May cause right upper abdominal pain after fatty meals, bloating, nausea, and pain radiating to the back or right shoulder.
Minimally invasive (keyhole) approach for suitable patients, performed through small incisions.
Prolonged pain, fever, nausea and vomiting; may require urgent evaluation.

Simple cysts are usually followed up; large, painful or complicated cysts may require treatment.
Also known as dog tapeworm cyst; surgical, medical and percutaneous options are evaluated individually.

Patient Journey
Symptoms, previous surgeries, medications, comorbidities and existing investigations are reviewed.
Blood tests, liver function tests, bilirubin, amylase/lipase, ultrasound, MRCP, CT or MRI may be required.
Observation, medical therapy, ERCP, laparoscopic surgery or a multidisciplinary plan is tailored to the patient.
When appropriate, laparoscopic surgery is planned with discharge guidance, nutrition recommendations and a follow-up schedule.
Laparoscopic Approach
In suitable patients, gallbladder surgery is planned with the laparoscopic (keyhole) technique. Conversion to open surgery may become necessary in case of dense adhesions or unexpected findings; the decision during surgery always prioritises patient safety.
