Is a Liver Cyst Dangerous?

The vast majority of liver cysts are benign and only follow-up is recommended. Some cyst types (hydatid cyst, cystadenoma, etc.) require different treatment approaches.

Which cysts can be observed?

Most asymptomatic, small, simple cysts are simply followed up.

When is further assessment required?

  • Rapid growth
  • Pain or compression symptoms
  • Signs of infection
  • Suspicious imaging findings
